The .ÐÔ domain is the first national Top Level domain in the world, the writing of which is possible exclusively with «Cyrillic symbols» that is to say in the Russian Language. For example, Ðîññèÿ.ðô (Russia.RF), èìÿ êîìïàíèè.ðô (companyname.ðô) and so on.

Thus Russian-speaking users of åðó Internet will be able register, look through and easily find the domain names, which are fully written in Cyrillic. The opening of this zone will allow more than 300 000 000 people to use the world wide web in their native language all over the world.

REG.RU Register had signed the .ÐÔ (.RF) «Accreditation Agreement» # 1 to register .ÐÔ domain names dated from the 2nd of November 2009, with Coordination center of the national domain of Russia, becoming the first accredited Register in the .ÐÔ domain name zone.

Mass media, different exhibitions, conferences and other arrangements and lectures on the subject of Russian World Wide Web users and National Domain name Registrations have dedicated a lot of attention to the opening of the .ÐÔ (.RF) domain name zone.

Aleksey Koroluk — the general manager of REG.RU, who was in the working and technical group to work out the « Rules of domain name registration in the .ÐÔ domain name zone», held a conference to unleash the news of the opening of the first national Top Level domain name registration in the world at the Russian Internet Week 2009.
